Barcelona a decade later
March 01, 2025
Almost a decade after I’ve moved out I’ve come back to Barcelona for a holiday. I’ve been there plenty of times in the meantime, but all of them work trips. This time it was different and I’ve decided to spend one morning on street photography.
I love walking (any) city streets with a camera trying to find interesting shots. Usually I’d do it in headphones with a podcast, catching up with my backlog of audio entertainment or education (at 1.5x speed, of course!), but this time it was too much input. I’ve decided to spend two hours focused just on what I see around me and not get distracted. I was surprised how much easier it was to photograph that way (obviously…) and how much more pleasant the experience was. Another proof of the value of deep work, I guess.
